Diya Chacko is a second-year M.A./M.S. student in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Journalism dual-degree program at Columbia University. Originally from New Orleans, LA, she received a B.A. in print journalism from the University of Southern California, along with a minor in natural sciences. She hopes to someday become an environmental science reporter. For now, she reports on issues in Central Harlem for The Uptown Chronicle.
